Year 6 Hockey Triumphs

Two Year 6 Hockey teams met at Stanwell School in Penarth on Sunday 14th January to take part in the latest instalment of the South Wales Girls Under 11 Hockey League. Howell’s were joined by teams from Penarth and Cardiff and combined to play eight matches over the course of three hours. Team Pink had four great wins (2-0, 6-0, 6-0, 7-0) and were matched by Team Purple (3-0, 5-0, 3-0, 3-0), who took on the same opposition. The big showdown of the day came at the end, where Team Pink took on Team Purple to determine the overall winner. Only one goal separated the two teams in what proved to be a thrilling match, with Team Pink coming out on top. Both teams played some outstanding hockey throughout the day and should be very happy with the progress they are making. Attendance at Friday’s Year 6 Hockey Club has been excellent and gives the girls a great chance to practice games and match-play. Well done to all girls who took part, and all parents who gave up their Sunday morning to support the girls so well from the side-line!

Team Pink: Emily T, Izzy J, Jess C, Olivia T, Ella H, Bella D, Frankie J
Team Purple: Hannah B, Daisy B, Freya M, Issy C, Alberta G, Grace C, Lola M
