On Sunday 22nd June our second Champagne Cycle Challenge took place in the beautiful sunshine. This has raised more than £1500 for Pitch In to date. The Balthazzar group of elite cyclists arrived at the crack of dawn to set off on their ride to Talybont and back, an epic 88mile round trip. At 12.00pm the Magnum group of more than 50 cyclists made their way to Pontypridd and back, cycling 22 miles. We were joined by the Babycham cyclists at 2.00pm who cycled to Tongwynlais and back, cycling 11 miles. At 3.00pm Mr Lukins led the Pink Lemonade obstacle course on our playing fields for under 7s. Cyclists returned to Howell’s from 3.30pm when they were joined by family and friends for a glass of champagne or a soft drink and a delicious barbecue. Much fun was had by all. Many thanks and congratulations to all our cyclists for their amazing effort. Thank you also to everyone who joined us for the barbecue and supported the day. We’re now looking forward to next year’s challenge!
