On 6th March, twenty Hywelians met for lunch at the Grove Golf Club in Porthcawl where they enjoyed a very good meal, as usual. The day was fine and everyone who came was pleased to meet old friends and have a good chat in such pleasant surroundings.
A short business meeting followed during which Margaret Evans, the President of the Bridgend Branch, announced her retirement after many years of service. Margaret has been a very popular and capable leader of the branch and everyone was sad to hear her news. However, we were all very pleased that Elizabeth Richards (Mrs Fryer) has volunteered to take on the job so that Margaret can feel that the Bridgend Branch is in good hands.
