Public Speaking team compete in National Final

Our Year 13 public speaking team, made up of Grace, Chloe and Yasmine, took the long train journey to Moreton Hall School, near Oswestry, on Saturday 29th March to take their place in the National Final of the BPW Public  Speaking Competition 2014.  The girls were representing Southern England and Wales after their victory in the last round at Bristol.  They met several other talented teams from England and Northern Ireland and the standard of the performances was truly stellar! It was an amazing testimony to the concept of student voice and the audience enjoyed a real treat.  Lynn Everson,  BPW National  President, presented the certificates and prizes on the afternoon: she told everyone that this was the best competition she had attended  in the last ten years, with a truly amazing quality of speech making. The girls did not win but they did us proud and were tremendous ambassadors for their school and country. Mrs Richards commented that it was a privilege to accompany them.
