Our Chemistry Challenge club have met twice this term tackling past questions from RSC Chemistry Olympiad and Cambridge Chemistry Challenge papers in preparation for this year’s competitions. Taking concepts from the A-Level syllabus and turning those to real-world applications, students have analysed molecular structures and calculated the energies of light released in supernovae. Although the competitions aim at Years 13 and 12 respectively, the club welcomes students from Years 10 – 13 who would like to explore new areas of Chemistry and develop higher order thinking skills to tackle challenging and interesting problems.
